Actor Brad Pitt was in Tokyo Nov. 4, 2009 promoting the Asian release of the Quentin Tarantino film “Inglorious Basterds”. Last week, he was in Hollywood, California and involved in a minor motorcycle accident in Los Angeles county while fleeing paparazzi. Both weeks, rumors that the celebrity leading man was actually on his way to see former bride Jennifer Aniston plagued the star. Fact or fiction accusations that Pitt has been secret shopping to woo back his old mate are unfounded; the only thing the biker is likely to be out cruising the streets for this week is a new two wheel toy to love, and his devotion to Angelina Jolie is not in question [at this time].

        

A new unauthorized biography by celebrity-tale carrier Andrew Morton claims that the star had a relationship with her mom’s live-in boyfriend when she was 16 years old, RadarOnline.com reports.

An “insider” tells Britain’s Now magazine that Marcheline Bertrand discovered the affair and ended it but that her relationship with Jolie was damaged for years afterward.

Bertrand died of cancer in 2007.

Morton has also written books about Madonna, Tom Cruise and Princess Diana.

Call the tabs, then 9-1-1

After softly crooning his trusty tabloid-reporter call (“Lindsay’s-on-druuuuugs. Lindsay’s-on-druuuuuugs”), Michael Lohan prophesies his daughter’s possibly imminent death:

“It could be a year, a month, a week – who knows?” he tells Grazia magazine. “She has a plethora of medicine you can’t mix and can’t drink with.

“She needs long-term rehab. I fear the worst. Look at Elvis, Anna Nicole Smith, Heath Ledger – who was a close friend.”

Michael Lohan recently said on the “Maury Povich” show that LiLo is addicted to prescription medications.

Lindsay Lohan responded by telling Usmagazine.com, “I’m so hurt that someone who calls himself my father needs to use the press to communicate with me. It’s so sad that he needs to stay in the media spotlight by using my name and making up excessive lies. He should instead try to be a real father.”

Celeb bonding

“Mad Men” actress Elisabeth Moss married “Saturday Night Live” comic Fred Armisen on Sunday in New York, Usmagazine.com reports.

• Renée Zellweger is planning to spend the holidays with beau Bradley Cooper’s family, a source tells the New York Daily News.

• Jennifer Esposito, Cooper’s ex-wife, is engaged to “The Age of Love” reality-show contestant Mark Philippoussis, the tab also reports. Esposito starred in “Crash”; Philippoussis was asked to choose between 20-something “kittens” and 40-something “cougars” on the dating show. He picked “kitten” Amanda Salinas.

Raising a stink

Naomi Campbell’s new perfume deal doesn’t pass the smell test, a cosmetics-marketing company says in a lawsuit accusing the supermodel of cutting longtime associates out of their share of profits from her lucrative fragrance lines.

The lawsuit says Campbell violated a 1998 contract with Moodform Mission by inking a new fragrance-licensing agreement, costing the company a portion of proceeds from such scents as Naomi Campbell, Cat Deluxe and Seductive Elixir, the Associated Press reports.

        

Peter Andre & Katie Price splitting after almost half a decade is a respectable length of wedlock in the entertainment world and it all started and ended with reality TV.

We’d like to reflect on the couple in happier times with a string of TV hits including: When Jordan Met Peter, Jordan & Peter: Laid Bare, Jordan & Peter: Marriage and Mayhem, Katie & Peter: The Next Chapter and Katie & Peter: The Baby Diaries.

It started with an onscreen flirtatious couple meeting in 2004 on the celebrity graveyard show, “I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!”

In 2005, still in the first year of meeting, they held a wedding ceremony devoid of either class or dignity at Highclere Castle, Hampshire, paid for almost in whole by OK magazine. But it was and still is hugely entertaining.

Two beautiful babies were born. Junior, in 2006 and in 2007 they had another child and gave her the name of Princess Tiaamii.

Katie and Peter: The Next Chapter, was a startling window onto their marriage via reality TV. In it we got to see the couple re-enact sex scenes in front of the kids, something that Katie got a bit embarrassed about later.

“I know it’s disgusting, but we get carried way. It’s so easy to forget cameras are there.”

Their 2006 album duet, “A Whole New World”, gained platinum status in the UK but didn’t quite win over the critics.

But with such a willingness to share their lives for profit, cracks in the relationship began to appear to their audience. 2008/09 was the year of gossip and speculation on the state of their marriage. Stressed perhaps further by Katies naked ambition for the US audience.

Lindsay Lohan’s gal pal Samantha Ronson in big legal spat

The DJ is suing the lawyer she hired to stop rumors circulating about her and Lindsay Lohan. He sues back. It’s all fodder for blogs.

On a summer day last year, Martin Garbus, a veteran attorney from New York, went to a beachside cafe in Santa Monica to meet a young woman looking for a lawyer.

Impressing prospective clients was not difficult for Garbus, whose resume reads like a history of the late 20th century. From Lenny Bruce’s pornography trial to the publishing of the Pentagon Papers to the fatwa against Salman Rushdie, the septuagenarian could boast a hand in some of the biggest civil liberties cases in the last five decades. He has dodged segregationists’ bullets in Mississippi, organized migrant workers with Cesar Chavez and helped craft the Czech Republic’s Constitution.

The woman sitting across from him that day was Ronson, a professional DJ recently thrust into the gossip blogosphere for her rumored romance with actress Lindsay Lohan. Ronson, 31, was enraged by some particularly nasty stories posted online about her relationship with Lohan and wanted to sue.

Ronson was irate, and on the recommendation of a friend, turned to Garbus. Then 72, he had a vaunted reputation — Fortune called him “one of the country’s most able 1st Amendment lawyers” last year — and a practice that included high-profile clients. At the time he met Ronson, he was representing Don Imus in a suit against CBS.

Difficulties emerged early on. In court papers in the malpractice suit, Garbus alleged that Ronson often didn’t return his calls or answer e-mails. She forgot meetings and kept him waiting. Garbus had represented many people whose fame was based on unquestionable achievement — Andrei Sakharov, Samuel Beckett, Andy Warhol, Allen Ginsberg, Spike Lee — but Ronson, whose celebrity was rooted in titillation and limited largely to consumers of pop culture, often didn’t pick up the phone when he called, he alleged.

Regardless, the defamation suit progressed. Celebrity Babylon agreed to issue a retraction and an apology in exchange for Ronson dropping her claim, according to court filings in the malpractice suit. But that deal didn’t interest Hilton, no stranger to defamation suits.

“Perez Hilton doesn’t back down to anyone,” said Bryan Freedman, one of his attorneys.

“I’m tired of all this [stuff]. I wanna drop it,” she wrote.

“Will I be getting paid,” the lawyer replied.

There was no immediate answer.

In the end, neither Garbus nor Ronson attended the hearing. Lawyers from a local law firm hired by Garbus to assist in the case sat at the plaintiff’s table to hear the judge rule in Hilton’s favor. He dismissed the case and subsequently ordered Ronson to pay the blogger’s attorneys nearly $85,000.

Less than two weeks later, Garbus sued her in New York for close to $142,000 in fees and services. He later dropped that suit. In May, Ronson filed suit against Garbus in Los Angeles County Superior Court, contending that his incompetence had lost the case against Hilton and asking for damages in excess of $300,000. Among the allegations was that Garbus failed to fulfill his duties as her attorney because he was focused on collecting his fees.

Brittany Murphy, Plastic Surgery

There was a time when current glamazon actress Brittany Murphy was plain and chubby and largely ignored by moviegoers and TV fans alike. Watch old episodes of Boy Meets World, and there’s Murphy as lead gal Topanga’s giggly sidekick; in 1996’s Clueless, Brittany plays fashion-disaster Tai, the make-over “project” of her more popular classmates. However, in recent years, Brittany Murphy has re-invented herself and her career with a dramatic weight loss and more prominent (and sexy) film roles. Murphy played new wife to dreamy Ashton Kutcher (whom she also dated in real life) in 2003’s Just Married and vamped her way across the screen as sultry waitress-with-a-heart-of gold Shellie in 2005’s Sin City.

In recent years, Murphy has kept a low profile since her projects (Little Black Book, The Ramen Girl— did these duds even seen the inside of a movie theater?) have tanked with both critics and fans. But look for Brittany to release her first album in 2009 and look for her plus-sized lips splashed across gossip pages right now. Seriously, if you’re flying into LAX anytime soon, be sure to look out the window, Brittany’s king-sized kisser is surely visible from such heights. Apparently, Ms Murphy is no longer satisfied with all diet, exercise, and a well-paid make-up artist can provide and has gone under the knife— or at least under the collagen-filled syringe.

Murphy dropped some serious poundage after her child-star years, which resulted in her face becoming more defined. Indeed, all her features were sharpened by the change. But in recent weeks, Brittany’s nose has become the subject of much scrutiny. And fans can’t help but wonder: good make-up or a good surgeon? True, shading and professionally-placed concealer can sometimes work miracles, but Brittany’s nose appears to have slimmed down on both sides. The bridge of Brittany Murphy’s nose appears straighter and more defined. So, did Brittany partake in full-on rhinoplasty or some less-invasive shaping procedure?

Brittany Murphy never had serious bridge bump or an over-sized nose, which are the two main reasons to opt for surgery. Still, Murphy’s nose is smooth and now seems to compliment her features. Her people aren’t talking, but photos don’t lie. If she has had work done, its exactly the type of plastic surgery someone with Brittany’s beauty and charisma should be getting: subtle. Unlike her giant, laughable lips, Brittany’s nose is only slightly altered (if, in fact, altered at all) and enhances her overall appearance rather than creating a facial distraction.

Too often celebrities go overboard with their surgeries rather than sticking with discreet “refreshers” that keep friends, family, and the general public guessing. Truth be told, would you rather have friends comment on obvious surgical work or ask if you just had a restful vacation? As long as Murphy’s keeping mum, there’s no way to know for sure if her lips and nose were part of some buy one get one beauty bonus or if her nose is merely some photographers’ lighting trick. Let the debate rage on as 2009 brings not only Brittany Murphy’s debut album (and the chance to critique her pipes), but two new movie thrillers, The White Hotel and Deadline.

Brad Pitt and his babies’ mama Angelina Jolie were on hand for the world premiere of his new movie The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button. Angelina looking stunning in a black gown while Brad was looking dapper as always in a classic tuxedo. Brad even took the time to bring his parents into a picture on the red carpet. the movie, which has Brad Pitt’s character being born an old man and getting younger through his life, will hit theaters on Christmas day.
