A member of the entourage of rap singer Snoop Dogg was arrested and questioned Tuesday concerning an intercepted package of suspected marijuana at the Norfolk Plaza Hotel – formerly the Radisson Hotel Norfolk – a police spokeswoman said today.

The person, not named by police, gave a statement but was not formally charged, said Karen Parker-Chesson, the spokeswoman. Police originally reported Tuesday that the person was arrested on a misdemeanor marijuana possession charge.

The singer wasn’t involved, Parker-Chesson said. Snoop Dogg was in town for a concert Tuesday night at The NorVa.
